Fossil Preparation

Crystal World has a well equipped workshop and expert staff, well trained in the art of fossil restoration and preservation. In addition to preparing fossils, we also cast specimens to develop our range of replica products. Fossils are like carvings, when asked most carvers claim that the carving was already in the rock, all they had to do was remove the surplus pieces. A fossil preparatory leaves far less to the imagination. All he has to do is to follow the dotted lines. Most fossils are millions of years old and the bed rock baring them has often shifted or cracked. In many cases the dead animals did not get buried when they died, but were buried much later so that their bones were often damaged or missing. The preparator must fill in these gaps and create from a pile of rubble a reasonable attempt at restoring the original creature.
